West Texas plume agate is a prized variety of chalcedony renowned for its delicate, feather-like mineral inclusions that resemble wisps of smoke, wild grasses, or blooming desert brush frozen in stone. Found primarily in the volcanic regions south of Alpine and around Marfa, each piece is unique, displaying dramatic plumes in shades of black, gray, with white suspended within translucent quartz.
